Terms of Service

1. Who we are

These Terms are a binding agreement between you and Women4Business Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17294070), registered office 20 Wenlock Road, London, N1 7GU, United Kingdom (“we”, “us”, “Women4Business”). Contact: hello@women4business.com.

2. The platform

Women4Business is a women-only online platform comprising four pillars:

  • Marketplace — buying and selling goods between members.
  • Properties — listings for sales, rentals, holiday lets and shares.
  • Directory — promoting women-owned businesses and services.
  • Community — discussion, support and peer-to-peer connection.

We provide the technology that connects members. Except where expressly stated, we are not a party to any transaction, tenancy, contract for services, or agreement between members.

3. Eligibility & access

  1. You must be 18 or over.
  2. The platform is provided as a single-sex service under Schedule 3 of the Equality Act 2010 and as a positive action measure under sections 158/159 of the same Act. See our Women-only Access Policy.
  3. Account creation requires you to upload a photo of a government-issued ID, which we use to confirm eligibility for this single-sex service. Listing in the Properties pillar additionally requires identity verification through Stripe Identity, our regulated identity verification provider. We may, at our reasonable discretion, request further verification at any time.
  4. You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.

4. Your account

You are responsible for activity under your account, for keeping your password secure, and for notifying us promptly of any suspected unauthorised use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, our Acceptable Use Policyor our Community Guidelines.

5. Member content

You retain ownership of content you post (listings, photos, reviews, messages, forum posts). You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for display, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the platform. You confirm you have the rights necessary to grant this licence.

7. Fees, subscriptions & payments

  1. All subscription prices and platform fees are quoted exclusive of UK VAT. VAT will be charged at the prevailing rate at checkout where applicable.
  2. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your account; access continues until the end of the paid period.
  3. Marketplace sales are processed by Stripe Connect. We charge a 7% platform fee on the gross sale value (excluding shipping where separately listed). The platform fee is exclusive of VAT; VAT will be added to the fee where applicable. Payouts to sellers follow our buyer protection hold (see Refunds & Buyer Protection).
  4. Statutory cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 apply to digital subscriptions; by starting a paid subscription you consent to immediate supply and acknowledge that the right to cancel may be lost once the service has begun.

8. Prohibited conduct

You must not: post unlawful, infringing, deceptive, discriminatory, harassing or abusive content; impersonate another person; scrape or harvest data; circumvent verification; attempt to take payments off-platform to avoid fees; or use the platform to facilitate prohibited goods or services. 9. Reporting & enforcement

Every member profile, listing, thread, comment, product and review can be reported via the in-app reporting tool. We aim to review reports within 5 working days. Sanctions range from content removal and warnings to permanent account termination and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement.

10. Intellectual property

The Women4Business name, logo, software and design are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer or create derivative works without our prior written consent.

11. Disclaimers

The platform is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant that listings, member statements, reviews or directory entries are accurate, lawful, or fit for any purpose. You deal with other members at your own risk and should perform your own due diligence.

12. Liability

  1. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.
  2. Subject to (1), our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid to us in that period and (b) £100.
  3. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, goodwill, data, or business opportunity.
  4. We are not liable for any dispute between members, including in relation to marketplace items, properties, services advertised in the directory, or community interactions, except as expressly provided in our Buyer Protection scheme.

13. Indemnity

You indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your content, your transactions with other members, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

14. Suspension & termination

We may suspend, restrict or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, for breach of these Terms or where we reasonably suspect fraud, harm to others or risk to the platform. You may close your account at any time; outstanding payment obligations survive.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Waleshave exclusive jurisdiction, save that consumers retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of their place of residence.
