Marketplace (Seller) Terms

Last updated 9 July 2026

These supplemental terms apply to anyone listing or selling goods on the Women4Business marketplace, in addition to our main Terms of Service.

1. Becoming a seller

  • You must be a member in good standing whose account has been created with a photo ID (see our Access Policy).
  • You must complete Stripe Connect Express onboarding before receiving payouts. Stripe is the regulated payments provider; you accept Stripe’s Connected Account Agreement.
  • You are the seller of record and the merchant of record for each sale.

2. Platform fee

We charge a 7% platform fee on the gross sale value of each completed order (the item price, excluding any separately listed shipping). The fee is deducted at payout via Stripe Connect and is exclusive of VAT; VAT will be added to the fee where applicable. Refunds reverse the proportionate platform fee.

3. Listings

  • Items must be accurately described, with truthful photos taken or licensed by you.
  • Prices must be in GBP and inclusive of UK VAT where applicable. You are responsible for your own VAT registration and returns.
  • Prohibited goods are listed in our Acceptable Use Policy.
  • You must hold all rights, licences and consents needed to sell the items lawfully.

4. Orders, shipping & payouts

  • You must dispatch paid orders promptly (within 5 working days unless stated otherwise).
  • You must mark orders as shipped and provide tracking information where available.
  • Funds are held by the platform for up to 14 days under our buyer protection scheme. Payout is released when the buyer marks the order as received, or automatically after 14 days, whichever is sooner.
  • Disputes freeze payouts pending resolution.

5. Consumer law & returns

  • Where you sell to a consumer, you must comply with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 — including the 14-day right to cancel for distance sales (with limited exceptions for personalised or perishable goods).
  • You must publish a returns and refunds policy with each listing and honour it.

6. Buyer protection & disputes

Our buyer protection scheme is described in Refunds & Buyer Protection. You agree to engage with disputes within 5 days of opening. If you and the buyer cannot agree, our admin team adjudicates and may issue full or partial refunds from held funds.

7. Chargebacks

Card chargebacks are governed by the card scheme rules and Stripe’s policies. Where a chargeback succeeds against an order, you bear the loss, including any chargeback fee charged by Stripe.

8. Tax

You are responsible for declaring and paying all taxes (income tax, VAT, customs duties) arising from your sales. Our platform fee is exclusive of VAT and VAT will be added to it where applicable. Under the OECD digital platform reporting rules, we may be required to share seller information with HMRC.

9. Suspension

We may delist items, suspend payouts or close seller accounts for material breach, repeated disputes, suspected fraud, or unsafe items.
